Forms and opt-in

Signup forms, double opt-in and the preference center.

Forms are how new subscribers arrive, and opt-in settings decide what happens next. The form builder creates embedded forms and standalone signup pages that match your brand, collect the fields you choose, and add subscribers to the list you point them at - optionally with tags, so you know where each signup came from.

Double opt-in adds a confirmation step: new signups are held as pending until they click a link in a confirmation email. It costs you a share of signups, but the addresses you keep are real, engaged and provably consented, which matters for both deliverability and GDPR. It can be enabled per form and per list, and applies to API-added subscribers as well.

The confirmation email itself is yours to design: pick a template, set the subject, and place the confirm link merge tag where you want it. Pending subscribers who never confirm are not emailed and do not count toward your bill, and the pending state is visible on every contact so you always know why someone has not received a campaign. The guides below cover building forms, the exact double opt-in flow, and how pending subscribers behave until they confirm.

Double opt-in Require new subscribers to confirm by email: enable it per form or account-wide, customize the confirmation email with confirm_link and handle pending.

Signup forms Create embedded, popup, slide-in and full page signup forms, install them on your site, connect double opt-in and read the conversion statistics.
